The International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), a Swiss-based football statistics institute, recently analysed the top dribblers in Europe's top five leagues over the past year.
Messi sits at the top of the ranking, completing a dribble every 19.2 minutes, with an overall success rate of 67%. He is followed by OGC Nice forward Allan Saint-Maximin, who completes a dribble every 19.8 minutes of play, with an overall success rate of 60%.
Chelsea's Eden Hazard sits in third spot with a successful dribble every 21 minutes. However, the Belgian has the highest completion rate among all players in Europe's top five leagues with 73%, even though he attempts fewer dribbles than the abovementioned pair.
Dijon's Tunisian winger Naim Sliti is the highest-ranked African dribbler with a successful dribble every 21.4 minutes and an overall completion rate of 72%, while Wilfried Zaha also features in the top 10, with a completed dribble every 25.6 minutes, despite a relatively low success rate of just 54%.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, who was known for his skillful dribbles at Manchester United, did not make the top 50, while Liverpool's Salah is also not among CIES' 50 best dribblers in Europe.
