Six Records Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo & FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi Share

2008

After recently looking at a few records held by FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi that Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo might never break, here are six records the two superstars share.

Click through the gallery above to see Messi and Ronaldo in action against one another over the years!

The two forwards have rivaled one another over the past decade, a time during which they have scored hundreds of goals and won many trophies for their respective clubs.

Despite Messi and Ronaldo perhaps always looking to surpass one another, they share five records that reiterate just how dominant they have been in world football.

Both the Argentine and Portuguese star have scored four goals in FIFA Club World Cup finals, according to the incredible comparison website MessivsRonaldo, and it is a tally no other player in world football has achieved.

Messi and Ronaldo also share the record of scoring at three different Club World Cups, a record both players might be aiming to hold individually if their club makes wins the UEFA Champions League this season.

The two international captains have also featured in the FIFPro World XI on 11 occasions each, which, again, is a record no other footballer has threatened.

Messi and Ronaldo have each won four European Golden Shoe Awards, while they are also the only two players in LaLiga history to have scored more than 300 goals.

Five Messi Records Ronaldo Might Never Break

Lastly, the Real talisman and Barca attacker have won five Ballons d'Or awards each, a tally that was unthinkable before their dominance began.
