The 40-year-old was instrumental in Portugal's penalty shootout win against Iberian rivals Spain after he netted Portugal's equaliser before being substituted in the second half due to injury.
However, Ronaldo's future remained a hot topic of discussion amid speculation of his next destination with Wydad Casablanca amid the clubs who reportedly wanted the striker's services.
A social media post that read: "This chapter is over. The story? Still being written," as well as speculation of a move to a Club World Cup team meant his future was up in the air.
According to ESPN, the former Real Madrid forward ruled himself out of playing at the Club World Cup.
"There has been plenty of contact [from clubs], I see things that make sense, others that don't. You can't go to all of them [clubs], you have to think short, medium and long term," the Portuguese captain said.
He added: "It's something that's practically decided on my part, which is not to go to the Club World Cup, but I've had plenty of invitations."
After the final, CR7 kept it short and sweet on where he would be playing next season.
"[My] Future? Nothing will change. Al-Nassr? Yes," the five-time Ballon D'Or winner revealed.
