Ronaldo 'Names' Coach He Wants As New Boss

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly named the big-name manager he wants as the next Al Nassr manager.

According to Marca, the Knights of Najd are unhappy with their current head coach Luis Castro.

The Portuguese tactician has come under tremendous scrutiny, more so especially after their heavy 4-1 loss to bitter rivals Al Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup final.

The Al Nassr chiefs believe the club should be competing for all the competitions their involved in, and having failed to win any major honours last season, the Saudi giants are beginning to lose patience with the 62-year-old.

Ronaldo was brought to the club at the beginning of 2023, and not only has he assumed the responsibility of being club captain, but he is understood to have also become part of the club's holistic sporting structure, and the Al Nassr hierarchy have consulted with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner about who he thinks should be Castro's successor.

The same report claims that Ronaldo wants his former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane to be the new head coach of the Saudi outfit.

The Frenchman has been without a job since ending his second stint with Los Blancos in 2021, and has been linked with multiple managerial positions since.

It is believed that Zidane's ultimate ambition is to coach the French national team, but with Didier Deschamps poised to be in charge of Les Bleus until at least the next FIFA World Cup, the former Real talisman's prospects of undertaking that position any time soon remain unlikely.
