Rival Player Slammed For Getting Messi's Autograph

A rival player has been slammed for getting Lionel Messi to sign his shirt after their U.S. Open Cup defeat this week.

Messi's fairytale start in the United States continued after they defeated Cincinnati on penalties to reach the final.

A number of famous athletes across America have been seen in attendance to witness the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner action, but it seems the players are also star struck after Brandon Vazquez was spotted getting a shirt signed by the Argentine.

Former Liverpool defender and ESPN pundit Steve Nicol was not happy with what he saw from an opposition player after the game.

"I'm just disgusted with it all, to be honest with you," Nicol said on ESPN FC.

"I don't have anything (to say) that is allowed on TV. I'm absolutely disgusted that anybody would lose a cup semi-final... and have the gall to think that it's okay to go get an autograph of somebody from the opposition.

"If I was the coach, I'd kick every one of them only my size 12s as they came back in the dressing room. Every single one of that embarrassed themselves and us by doing that. You can call it old school, you can call it whatever you want. But that is disgusting.

"Absolute joke - and if I'm a fan, and I see the players that I've come to see win a game, acting like fun boys after the game when they've just lost a cup semi-final..

"I would prefer to say other words, but I'm not allowed to," he said.
