Report: Ronaldo To Earn Extra €200m In Saudi Arabia

Cristiano Ronaldo

It has been claimed that five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo could earn an extra €200 million (R3.6 billion) following his move to Saudi Arabia giants Al Nassr.

New Portugal Coach Addresses Ronaldo's International Future

The 37-year-old became the highest-paid player in world football with his free-agent switch to the Middle East, where he will reportedly be paid a staggering €196 million over the duration of his stay.

AFP has now claimed, however, that the ex-Manchester United No. 7 could receive a further €200 million should he accept the opportunity to become an ambassador for the country's 2030 FIFA World Cup bid.

"Ronaldo will be paid more than €200 million for the deal," the publication quoted a club source as saying.

"He will be an ambassador for the Saudi World Cup 2030 bid for another €200 million."

Ronaldo, who will turn 38 next month, joined Al Nassr for free at the start of the January window following his unceremonious departure from the Red Devils in November.

Al Nassr Boss Unhappy With Match That Will Be Ronaldo's 'Debut'

The Portugal captain's United contract was mutually terminated just days before A Selecao's World Cup campaign in Qatar after he publicly criticised the Premier League club for the way he was being treated.
