While the Portuguese forward turned 34 years old on Tuesday, Neymar celebrated his 27th birthday on the same day.
Many are under the impression the former FC Barcelona man has not quite lived up to expectations just yet, but statistics from Transfermarkt show he is well on course to becoming one of the all-time greats.
At 27 years old, Ronaldo had scored 272 goals for both club and country, a number Neymar has surpassed at the same age. The Brazilian has struck 283 times in his professional career so far, while he also has more assists than Ronaldo had.
While the Portuguese had assisted just 107 strikes by the time he turned 27, the PSG forward has set up 178 goals since his debut at the highest level. Neymar has also won 19 trophies so far, compared to the 10 trophies Ronaldo at 27 years old.
The Selecao talisman has achieved these numbers in 63 fewer games than Ronaldo did, although the Portuguese forward had already won one Ballon d'Or at the age of 27, an individual accolade Neymar is yet to win.
