The 2022 FIFA World Cup champions will go up against Uruguay and Brazil this week in qualifying matches for the tournament set to be held in the United States in 2026.
Messi, despite perhaps lacking match fitness, was unsurprisingly called up by Lionel Scaloni for the continental games and is ready to feature for the Albiceleste.
"Messi is fine, he is doing well," Scaloni told reports on Thursday, according to ESPN.
"Beyond the fact that he played a game in the last 25 days, he has been training normally, he is in good condition and he is fine."
The Inter Miami forward played on 10 November in a celebratory match against New York City FC, though that is the only time he has been involved competitively this month.
Argentina will host Uruguay in the early hours of Friday morning, while they will take on Brazil next week Wednesday at the famous Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
