Speaking about his two encounters against FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi in the UEFA Champions League last season, a Liverpool player has admitted the Argentine forward has the ability to make opponents look stupid.
Before taking on Tottenham Hotspur in the final of last season's European competition, the Reds had to go up against a tough Barca side spearheaded by five-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi.
The first leg of that semi-final, played at the Camp Nou, finished 3-0 to the Catalan giants, but the tie was turned on its head when Liverpool performed an incredible comeback by winning the second leg 4-0.
Reminiscing about the first leg recently, Liverpool stalwart James Milner credited that result to Messi, whom he feels sometimes makes players look silly with his skill and dribbling ability.
"And when you've got that guy (Messi) on the team, it is very hard to run as fast as you can with your legs closed, as I've found out.
"He can make you look stupid.
"The free-kick he scored, the player he is means it is always going to be tough."
