International Cup
Result: FC Barcelona v Juventus
Date: 23 July 2017
Venue: MetLife Stadium
Neymar, who has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, bagged a brace to lead FC Barcelona to a 2-1 win over Juventus in the International Cup.
Lionel Messi and Neymar started in the attack alongside Paco Alcacer, while Luis Suarez had to settle for a spot on the bench.
The Catalan giants threatened early on with Neymar squandering two good chances in the opening 10 minutes.
However, Neymar was not to be denied in the 15th minute as he played a neat one-two with Alcacer before curling the ball home from close range.
The lead was then doubled in the 26th minute as Neymar weaved his way past a couple challenges before slotting past Gianluigi Buffon.
Messi nearly registered his name on the score-sheet 10 minutes later with the Argentine rattling the crossbar from 12-yards out. The score remained 2-0 to the La Liga outfit at halftime. Both clubs made changes for the second half as Juve introduced new signings Wojciech Szczesny and Mattia De Sciglio, while Luis Suarez, Arda Turan and Sergio Busquets were the big names introduced for Barca. The Serie A champions managed to pull a goal back in the 63rd minute as Paulo Dybala's inviting cross found Giorgio Chiellini, who sent a powerful header past Jasper Cillessen. Barca nearly restored their two-goal advantage in the 83rd minute through Carlos Alena, who sent a curling effort inches wide of the upright. Nevertheless, the score remained 2-1 to Barca at the full-time whistle.
Other result: In the day's other International Cup match, Tottenham Hotspur proved too strong for Paris Saint-Germain as they romped to a 4-2 win at the Camping World Stadium.
