With Lionel Messi considered by many as the greatest player of all time, one of his teammates has claimed that if football were a religion, the Argentine would likely be God.
The 32-year-old has for a long time been thought of as one of the greatest footballers of all time, with many believing he might just be the best in history.
His new teammate Martin Braithwaite has been starstruck by Messi since his arrival this month, saying after he assisted the six-time Ballon d'Or winner for a goal in their 5-0 win over Eibar recently that he did not want to wash his shirt after receiving a hug from his captain.
The Denmark international has once again praised his colleague in a new interview, insisting that there is not another player in the world with his ability.
"Nobody can do things he does. If football were a religion, Messi might be God," he told Barcelona's official website.
"He controls the match. He is an extraordinary player."
Although Messi has not been in his best form this season, he has still scored 23 goals and assisted a further 16 strikes in 29 matches across all competitions so far.
