NEW: Mbappe 'Annoys' France Boss

France head coach Didier Deschamps is reportedly annoyed with Kylian Mbappe after he started for Real Madrid this past weekend.

The two-time world champions will be without their captain Mbappe for their upcoming 2024/25 UEFA Nations League encounters against Belgium and Israel.

The Paris native recently returned from a thigh muscle injury sustained during Los Blancos' 1-0 defeat to Lille in the UEFA Champions League last week, and Deschamps cited this niggle as the reason for the forward's omission from the latest Les Bleus squad.

While the 55-year-old tactician confirmed that his reason for not selecting his talisman was because he needed to rest, the superstar attacker was named in the starting XI for Real's 2-0 victory over Villarreal, and according to L'Equipe, this is believed to have annoyed the former Juventus manager.

The purpose of his non-selection for the latest iteration of the French national team was so that he could fully recover in the Spanish capital, but 2018 FIFA World Cup winner played 71 minutes against the Yellow Submarine.

While the former defensive midfielder may be angry with his captain for not availing himself for his nation, the decision to not select him has been taken, and he now has to select a new captain for the upcoming set of international matches.

Antoine Griezmann would have been the likeliest candidate to be selected as skipper for the matches, but with the Atletico Madrid attacker recently calling time on his international career, the same report claims that Deschamps is contemplating giving the armband to either Mbappe's Los Merengues teammate Aurelien Tchouameni or Arsenal's William Saliba.
