Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo still leads the European Golden Shoe rankings as the current top goal-scorer across all European leagues this season.

The Portuguese, who has failed to score a goal since 18 January, still tops the rankings with 28 strikes - or 56 points.
European Sports Media award the Golden Shoe based on a points system, which rates goals scored in a higher ranked league higher than those scored in weaker leagues (based on UEFA coefficient).
The current Golden Shoe ranking is as follows:
1) Cristiano Ronaldo – 28 goals – 56 points (factor 2.0)
2) Lionel Messi – 26 goals – 52 points (factor 2.0)
3) Evgeni Kabaev – 36 goals – 36 points (factor 1.0)
4) Diego Costa – 17 goals – 34 points (factor 2.0)
5) Neymar – 17 goals – 34 points (factor 2.0)
6) Igor Subbotin – 32 goals – 32 points (factor 1.0)
7) Jackson Martinez – 16 goals – 32 points (factor 2.0)
8) Sergio Aguero – 16 goals – 32 points (factor 2.0)

Ronaldo and Messi have each won the Golden Shoe thrice, with Ronaldo claiming last year's award jointly with Luis Suarez, after both scored 31 league goals.
