Cristiano Ronaldo is outshining Lionel Messi in 2014 based on goals scored, but the Argentine has created more assists.
Ronaldo, who has had a record-breaking start to the new La Liga campaign, has scored 52 goals in 52 games for club and country.
Messi, meanwhile, sits on 45 goals in 59 games for club and country in 2014.
While Ronaldo has provided a further 22 assists, Messi assisted his teammates 26 times.
Overall, Ronaldo has also scored 52 goals for Portugal in 117 caps, while Messi has scored 46 goals for Argentina in 96 caps.
While the two-year older Ronaldo recently scored his 450th career goal, Messi has scored 410 so far.
Messi is one goal ahead of Ronaldo in the Champions League and is set to break Telmo Zarra's La Liga all-time record, where he needs two more strikes.
While Ronaldo has won the Copa del Rey, the Champions League final and the UEFA Super Cup, Messi failed to win any team trophy this year and his best achievement was reaching the World Cup final.
