The 27-year-old has been ruled out for another four weeks after picking up a hamstring injury during the international break.
This is not Neymar's first injury since joining PSG from FC Barcelona for a world-record fee of €222 million (R3.7 billion) – the player has already missed 58 club games due to medical setbacks since joining the French giants in 2017.
His latest injury has many questioning if he has, in fact, become one of many well-known injury-prone players who spent too many days of their careers in the treatment room.
Neymar's countryman Ronaldo Nazario was one of those players, arguably the most gifted footballer whose career was hindered by injuries. The Selecao legend did win two FIFA World Cups and two Ballons d'Or, but his career was riddled with spells on the sidelines.

He ended his career in 2011 after being diagnosed with hypothyroidism, a condition that slows down metabolism and causes weight gain. This was discovered in 2007 already, but even before then he had had some very bad luck with injuries, picking up ligament knee damage in both his right and left legs. According to Transfermarkt, Ronaldo spent an astonishing 1 081 days on the sidelines due to injuries.
Another player whose career was cut short by injuries was Owen Hargreaves. His troubles started in 2006 following a leg break. He thought the worst behind him when he joined Manchester United in 2007, but only made 39 appearances for the club between 2007 and 2011.
In November 2010, he was selected in the starting XI after a 777-day injury-layoff, but his appearance only lasted a few minutes before he limped off. United subsequently did not extend his contract at the end of the 2010/11 campaign, and he eventually hung up his boots following a brief spell with crosstown rivals City, during which he made just one league appearance.
