According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Ligue 1 giants Olympique Marseille have held discussions with the 22-year-old striker following his season-long loan spell at Getafe in Spain.
The player is due to return to the Red Devils, where he is under contract until June 2025, although rumours suggest that the club is hoping to sell him permanently in this transfer window.
It is said that talks between United and Marseille are at an "early stage" as United seek to find a solution for Greenwood, who was arrested in January 2022 on suspicion of attempted sexual assault and abuse.
In April last year, the forward resumed training after seeing those charges dropped, before he was sent out on loan to LALIGA for the 2023/24 campaign.
There, Greenwood contributed to 16 goals in 36 matches, and ended the term as Getafe's Player of the Season.
