As Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to bolster his squad for next season, Manchester United are now reportedly chasing a star midfielder nicknamed 'The Octopus'.
United are currently stacked in the midfield department following the arrival of Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba's return from injury ahead of the restart.
However, ESPN have reported that United and AC Milan are among the clubs interested in Benfica's defensive midfielder Florentino Luis.
The 20-year-old is now a starter for the Portuguese giants after breaking out during the latter part of last season but injuries has limited his game time this season.
The report goes on to claim that the player's agent Bruno Carvalho Santos already met with Red Devils officials during the January transfer window while he has been taking other enquiries in recent months.
Santos received the nickname "O Polvo", which translates to the Octopus, due to the way he is able to move the around the pitch and recover loose balls.
"Florentino is one of the highest rated young defensive midfielders in Europe, so there is a lot of interest in him at the moment.
"There has been a lot of talk about Milan, but I can tell you that there is a lot of competition for his services, with clubs in England, Germany and Spain also following him closely."
