Man Utd Star: Club Made It Clear I Can’t Leave

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has admitted he would not consider leaving the club after they had prevented him from leaving last year.

Maguire's future at Old Trafford appears to be set, at least for the upcoming campaign, when the Englishman revealed that he would not leave Ruben Amorim's side after they decided against selling him last season, according to the BBC.

"Last year, the clause was in their hands," he said. "There was no option for me there. There was no talking. It was just that they activated it, and it got extended."

He added, "I'm pretty sure the club made it clear this summer that I can't leave on any terms. A couple of clubs enquired and I think they got a quick response."

Since joining the Red Devils for a record £80 million fee from Leicester in 2019, Maguire has been through various managerial changes and ups and downs within the club. He had rejected a move to West Ham a few years back, but he has a few options available to him

"I'm sure over the next few months we'll have to have a conversation about where we want to go and if they want to extend," he said.

"Obviously, I have something in my mind about what I want to do and where I want to be," he added.

The 64-capped England international revealed that he has felt the changes at the club since Jim Ratcliffe joined in 2023.

"I don't want to put it out there to everybody, but it's an amazing club to play for and you'd be silly if you wanted to jump out of it as soon as you could," he said.

"The hierarchy has come in, with [technical director] Jason [Wilcox] and the manager, and I feel like they're taking it in the right direction.

"Since I started six years ago to now, it's in a completely different place in terms of the structure behind the management staff. We're in a good place. A lot better place," he concluded.
