For weeks, it had been rumoured that the reigning Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 champions were in discussions to bring the former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker to the club to reunite with his ex-coach.
The Ga-Molepo native has featured more under Mokwena, 56, than any other manager in his professional career, playing for him at both Ka Bo Yellow and Wydad Athletic Club. He looked on course to add to those appearances with a switch to El Mouloudia, but that transfer now appears to have collapsed.
According to AfricaFoot, while the North African giants and the Canadian outfit were in advanced negotiations for the two-capped international, Toronto FC raised their asking price for the 24-year-old late in the process.
The decision reportedly left MCA’s hierarchy aggrieved, leading them to end discussions over a potential transfer.

Algers are said to be among several clubs interested in the player but stood out as the only side known to have held active talks with Toronto. With just a few weeks remaining in the transfer window, it remains to be seen whether other suitors will step forward with an offer.
