Surprise news has seemingly emerged from Old Trafford once again, with the Red Devils believed to be open to selling Raphael Varane, according to Sky Sports Germany.
The 30-year-old has struggled with a number of injuries since making his arrival under former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2021, and in recent weeks has fallen out of favour under Erik ten Hag, having started just once in the league since coming off with a knock against Nottingham Forest in August.
The Dutch tactician has preferred to start the duo of Johnny Evans and Harry Maguire of late and it is because of this, the same report claims, that Bayern are now monitoring the Lens native's situation at the Theatre of Dreams.
Die Roten are currently without Matthijs de Ligt and Tarek Buchmann, and with Noussair Mazraoui likely headed to the Africa Cup of Nations tournament at the beginning of 2024, the German giants are understood to be looking for cover in their backline.

However, the record Bundesliga champions are said to be willing to pay his valuation of between €20 and €30 million (R400 and R600 million), with a loan deal not believed to be an option at this stage.
