Ten Hag Responds To Guardiola's Man Utd Claim

Ten Hag Responds To Guardiola's Man Utd Claim

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has responded to Pep Guardiola's big claim that the Red Devils are finally on their way back to being one of the strongest sides in England again.

Fred Hit Back At Scholes After Antony Criticism

Speaking in a pre-match press conference on Friday, the Manchester City manager said he had seen signs that the 20-time English champions are on an upward trajectory following the appointment of Ten Hag.

Guardiola stated that he has a feeling "United are coming back", words that prompted a lot of reaction given where they came from.

The ex-Barcelona boss has claimed four Premier League titles since joining City, and is widely considered among the greatest managers of all time.

Responding to his rival's comments after United's 1-0 win over West Ham United on Sunday, Ten Hag insisted it is too early to be discussing his side as a threat to City's domestic dominance.

"I think it's a bit too quick (to claim Manchester United are 'coming back')," he said, according to the Metro.

"In the second half we have to manage it better. But the spirit we have is fabulous.

"We have the quality to score goals, but attacking football effectiveness, we have to improve that.

"But we are going in the direction, but being a threat is a long way to go."

United are currently fifth in the Premier League with a game in hand over fourth-placed Newcastle United, having won seven of their first 12 matches of the season.

Ronaldo And Ten Hag Crunch Talks Revealed?

Against the Hammers, Marcus Rashford scored a milestone 100th goal for the Red Devils with a towering header at the far post, with the England international having already scored more times in this campaign than he did in the previous one.
