French Ligue 1
Result: Bordeaux 0-1 Paris Saint-Germain
Date: 22 April 2018
Venue: Matmut Atlantique
Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain recorded a 1-0 win over Bordeaux at Matmut Atlantique on Sunday evening.
Despite clinching the title last week, Unai Emery continued to field the likes of Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe, although a few youngsters were also included in the line-up.
After a slow start, PSG went close to breaking the deadlock after 11 minutes as Giovani lo Celso forced Benoît Costil into a fine save with a shot from distance.
The Ligue 1 giants enjoyed plenty of possession in the opening 20 minutes, although they only managed one meaningful effort to show for their dominance.
PSG had to wait until the 43rd minute for another chance as Lo Celso sliced a volley over the crossbar from inside the box.
The second half started in similar fashion as the first, as PSG were restricted to efforts from distance, none of which troubled Costil.
Emery responded with a double change after the hour, with Julian Draxler and Thiago Motta replacing Nkunku and Javier Pastore.
The deadlock was eventually broken on 76 minutes thanks to a strike from Lo Celso, who was one of PSG's livelier players on the night.
The visitors pushed for a second goal in the closing stages of the half but they were unable to carve out another chance as the clash ended 1-0.
