In recent weeks, Lewandowski has been very vocal about his desire to leave the Bavarian giants, and it is now reported that the Pole could be one step closer to achieving his wish.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the striker has agreed to sign off on a wage package of £175 000 (R3.4 million) a week with Barcelona.
The 33-year-old is reportedly waiting on the LaLiga side to generate the funds needed to table a transfer fee for Bayern to consider.
Lewandowski is contracted to the Bundesliga champions for 12 more months and they are not be eager to let him go, but could be open to the idea if it means raising funds to bring in Sadio Mane from Liverpool.
With Barca still in the midst of a severe financial crisis, the Spanish club's chiefs will reportedly gather later in the week to discuss the best possible way to reduce their wage bill further.
It seems Lewandowski only wants to play for the Camp Nou team, however, with the same report suggesting he has rebuffed advances from Paris Saint-Germain.
