Clubs such as Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain had been interested in the talented player, although his mind was set on joining Real when it became clear the Spanish giants were after his signature.
"I had the chance to choose other clubs, yes - but as soon as I knew Real Madrid wanted me, I never doubted," he said at his unveiling.
Tchouameni, who is considered a talented defensive midfielder who is as equally productive on the ball, becomes the club's fourth biggest signing in history behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard, and will wear the No. 18 jersey in the capital.
