How Real Madrid Could Line Up With Two New Signings

RB: Dani Carvajal

With Real Madrid having recently completed two big signings, here is how the reigning European champions could line up once the 2022/23 season commences.

Click through the gallery above to see how Real could line up next season with the additions of Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni!

Off the back of winning the LaLiga and the UEFA Champions League titles in the 2021/22 campaign, Los Blancos have not rested on their laurels, having already bolstered their squad significantly as they look to retain their crowns.

The Spanish giants' first acquisition ahead of next season was Antonio Rudiger, having acquired the German's services on a free deal after he ran down his contract with Chelsea.

The 29-year-old is likely to slot in next to Brazilian centre-back Eder Militao in the middle of Real's defence after his outstanding displays for the Blues last season.

Rudiger is regarded as one of the best central defenders in world football, and with Los Blancos having lost Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos at the beginning of the 2021/22 campaign, the Spanish champions will likely be looking reinforce the spine of the team with quality that is equally as good as the aforementioned players.

This will likely force David Alaba to the left-back position, a position he made his own during his 11-year stay with Bayern Munich.

Having joined Carlo Ancelotti's men at the beginning of last season, the Austria international played the majority of the campaign at centre-back alongside Militao, with Ferland Mendy playing at left-back, something that is likely to change following Rudiger's arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real's second signing of the transfer window is Aurelien Tchouameni, who became the 14-time European champions' fourth-most expensive acquisition ever when they paid an initial €80 million (R1.3 billion) to AS Monaco for his services.

The 22-year-old, who is used to playing in the defensive midfield position, can also play in a box-to-box role and is young enough to adapt to the position.

Given Toni Kroos' age and with some feeling the German's abilities are beginning to wane, Tchouameni would perhaps provide the perfect injection of youthfulness into a midfield that also has veterans Luka Modric and Casemiro in it.
