Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has broken his silence with regards to Erling Haaland's potential arrival at the Camp Nou.
Barca's Second 2022/23 Signing Revealed?
The 2010 FIFA World Cup winner has claimed that since his appointment to the Barca dugout, no player has refused to sign and wear the club's famous red and blue strip.
This statement comes in light of Xavi's reported visit to the German city of Munich recently, where the Spaniard was said to have had a meeting with Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland.
These comments have seemingly fuelled rumours of the 21-year-old's possible arrival in Catalonia.
According to ESPN, the former Barca captain has neither denied nor confirmed that the meeting took place as the race for the Norwegian's signature intensifies, with Real Madrid and Manchester City also said to be in contention.
"Is that confirmation [of the meeting] or a question?" Xavi laughed during a pre-game press conference ahead of the Blaugrana's UEFA Europa League round of 16 tie against Galatasaray.
"Look, it is always a good moment to sign for Barcelona. For me, this is the best club in the world. And, honestly, not a single player has said no to Barcelona since I have been here [as coach]."
When asked about what he says to convince players to sign, he said: "You explain how we play and how we train. You tell them that here they will touch the ball 40 times a game instead of 20.
"I try to let them know about the club and about how wonderful the city is. I transmit that it is a golden opportunity for any player and the style of play will make them a better player."
Following Xavi's appointment in November 2021, the Catalan giants have had a dramatic upturn in form, losing only one league game and winning nine to leave Barcelona in third position on the LaLiga table.
