The former Los Blancos star is now looking to get into club ownership, with reports claiming a consortium fronted by Bale are looking to buy Cardiff City.
According to the Mirror, a bid of £40million (R829million) has launched to buy the Welsh-based outfit, who were relegated from the English Championship to League One last season.
City were relegated to the third tier of English football for the first time in 20 years, which is reportedly the reason why the bid from the consortium has been made.
The Times, meanwhile, have reported that current Bluebirds owner Vincent Tan is likely to reject to the £40million bid.
Tan was part of a Malaysian consortium that took over the club 2013, becoming a majority shareholder after initially making a £5million investment for 30 percent.
