On Wednesday, West Ham confirmed that they had relieved Spaniard Julen Lopetegui of his duties at the London Stadium. Now, yet another English top-flight side has decided to take the same step.

On Thursday, Everton made an announcement confirming that they would no longer be continuing with Sean Dyche as their head coach.

An official statement from the club read: "Everton Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as Senior Men's First Team Manager with immediate effect.

"Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard and Billy Mercer have also left the Club.

"The process to appoint a new manager is under way and an update will be provided in due course.

"Under-18s Head Coach Leighton Baines and Club Captain Seamus Coleman will take charge of first-team affairs on an interim basis."

The decision to part ways with the Kettering native comes mere weeks after the Toffees were taken over by a new ownership group, The Friedkin Group. The former Watford FC and Burnley manager becomes the sixth managerial casualty of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, following Erik ten Hag, Steve Cooper, Russell Martin, Gary O'Neil, and Lopetegui.

The man poised to succeed Dyche as Everton boss is David Moyes. The Scotsman, previously in charge of the Merseysiders between 2002 and 2013, is now unemployed after leaving the Hammers at the end of last season. He is set to return to the club where he established himself for just over a decade.
