Football across Europe has been halted, but some clubs have either pressed on with their transfer business or already had deals in place for next season before the COVID-19 pandemic arose.
Chelsea did not sign anyone in the January transfer window despite their ban from FIFA – for breaching regulations regarding the signing of minors – being reduced, but did secure Hakim Ziyech's services in February. The highly sought-after Moroccan winger will join the Blues from Ajax Amsterdam in a deal worth an initial €40 million (R815 million), putting pen to paper on a five-year contract.
