The January transfer window shut on Monday night, and we take a look at the biggest transfers of the month with an African leading the spendings.

Overall, English Premier League clubs were once again the biggest spenders after splashing out £130 million – the same amount as last year.
Here the five most expensive deals of this transfer window:
1) Wilfried Bony – Swansea to Manchester City for £28 million
2) Juan Cuadrado – Fiorentina to Chelsea for £26.1 million
3) Andre Schurrle – Chelsea to Wolfsburg for £22 million
4) Enzo Perez – Benfica to Valencia (undisclosed – thought to be £20 million)
5) Gabriel Paulista – Villarreal to Arsenal (£14 million)

Despite missing the January transfer record of 225 million in 2011, this season overall has still seen the biggest spending by Premier League clubs ever.
English top fligh clubs have now spent a record-breaking £950 million, including the deals from the summer - easily surpassing last season's total of £760 million.
