The 2019/20 Free Agent XI

The 2019/20 Free Agent XI

GK: Michel Vorm

The European transfer window might have closed on Monday, but a number of players are still available on a free transfer, and they could form a dangerous starting XI.

Boasting more than 3 500 senior club appearances between, the Free Agents XI consists of a selection of experienced players who have turned out for the likes of AC Milan, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid during the course of their careers in a 4-3-2-1 formation.

Portuguese star Fabio Coentrao and Brazilian Lucas Silva, the latter of whom was recently released after failing to secure a work permit, are among the former Los Blancos stars who are available on a free transfer this season. Coentrao features in his favoured left-back position while Silva makes up part of a three-man midfield.

The 26-year-old is joined in the middle of the park by former PSG playmaker Hatem Ben Arfa and Juventus legend Claudio Marchisio, who are currently clubless after leaving Stade Rennais and Zenit St. Petersburg, respectively, at the end of last season.

Ivory Coast international Wilfried Bony leads the line as the sole striker after not being offered a new deal at Swansea City. The 30-year-old spent part of last season on loan at Al-Arabi, where he scored five goals in seven appearances, and recently took part in the Africa Cup of Nations with his national team.
