It has been claimed that the Blaugrana have moved ahead of PSG, City and Juve in the race for the Ajax Amsterdam midfielder, who could join the Camp Nou club after the current campaign.
Barcelona is believed to be the 21-year-old's preferred destination, and the Blaugrana have apparently sent club delegates to Amsterdam to complete the deal, which will reportedly cost them €90 million.
De Jong has made 28 appearances for Ajax so far this season, and also impressed during the Netherlands' UEFA Nations League campaign, during which they qualified for the inaugural finals ahead of 2018 FIFA World Cup winners France and Germany.
