Although there are yet to be any blockbuster transfers in the January window of 2020, there have been a few surprise deals.
Italian giants Juventus caught many off guard with their €35 million (R554 million) signing of 19-year-old winger Dejan Kulusevski from Atalanta, though the youngster will spend the rest of the season on loan at Parma.
The Swedish attacker impressed in the first half of the campaign, and will joined up with the Bianconeri at the start of the 2020/21 season, where he will hope to earn a place in Maurizio Sarri's side.
Norwegian wonderkid Erling Haaland, 19, made headlines when he chose Borussia Dortmund over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United, joining the German side from Salzburg for around €20 million (R316 million).

A big surprise was talented Germany midfielder Julian Weigl leaving BVB for Benfica, considering the major European clubs that were once after his signature. After bursting onto the scene five years ago, Weigl was touted as one of the best young talents in world football, but has since failed to live up to those expectations.
Liverpool have secured the signings of Japan international Takumi Minamino and fairly unknown Brentford striker Joe Hardy, who had not yet even played for the Championship club's senior side.
