Many of France's players are said to be frustrated with the performances of one of their teammates, who starred for Les Bleus in Russia four years ago, at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
FIFA Confirms Senegal Investigation Ahead Of England Clash
L'Equipe has reported that certain members of France's World Cup squad in Qatar have made their displeasure with Benjamin Pavard's performance levels known.
The right-back was a key player for head coach Didier Deschamps at the tournament in Russia, scoring one of the goals of the World Cup as France beat Argentina in the round of 16.
Pavard was named in his country's starting XI for their opening game of the competition against Australia this time around, and was believed to have been told by Deschamps that he was at fault for the Socceroos' goal.
Australia took the lead early in on that match after the Bayern Munich fullback was caught napping at the far post, before France scored four goals to come from behind and claim all three points.
The report claims Ousmane Dembele, who started in front of Pavard at right-wing, is among those unhappy with the former Stuttgart defender, although he has received support from the likes of Olivier Giroud and captain Hugo Loris.
Pavard was dropped for France's 2-1 win over Denmark and did not feature at all in their 1-0 defeat to Tunisia to end the group stage on Wednesday night.
