On the verge of securing qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz has insisted he is one of the 10 best coaches on the planet.

On Friday night, the Pharaohs defeated reigning African champions Senegal 1-0 in the first leg of their World Cup qualifying playoff courtesy of a Saliou Ciss own goal in the fourth minute of the match.
With the two nations now heading to Senegal to contest the final play-off match on Tuesday, Queiroz has insisted he deserves credit for his coaching nous.
"I don't see any reason to be upset or sad [with our performance]. We just beat the African champions. In the second leg, we will defend our advantage with everything," he said, according to PortuGOAL.net.
"I have 44 years of experience as a coach internationally and have more than 2 000 games.
"I am the only coach to take four countries to the World Cup and I am among the 10 best coaches in the world."
The Mozambique-born tactician will be hoping to lead Egypt to successive World Cup tournaments for the first-time in the nation's history following their exploits in Russia in 2018.
Qualification for the 2022 tournament could be more gratifying as it would come at the expense of the Lions of Teranga, the team that defeated the Pharaohs in the final of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, a sentiment shared by Aston Villa winger Mahmoud Trezeguet.
"We were crushed after the Africa Cup of Nations final because we put in a lot of effort to reach this stage."
