Play was suspended after just eight minutes after health officials were accompanied onto the field by Police to stop the game and locate the four Argentine players who were in breach of quarantine.

Premier League stars Emiliano Buendia, Emiliano Martinez, Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero reportedly avoided being departed after allegedly lying on documents they filled out to enter Brazil.

ESPN Brazil claim the Federal Government, FIFA and CONMEBOL did come to an agreement to allow all four players to compete, but the Brazilian health officials stormed the field on eight minutes to get the four players off the field.

The game has been suspended:

The reports claim the game has been suspended after the four players did not declare that they had been in England, which would have forced them to quarantine 14 days as per the countries Covid-19 regulations.

The Daily Mail reported that the played claimed they had been in Argentina and Venezuela before entering the country.

The Argentine players left the field to proceed to the dressing room while the Brazil players remained on the pitch and had a training match after the qualifier was called off.
