Mane List His Favourites For The FIFA World Cup

Sadio Mane

Bayern Munich and Senegal star Sadio Mane has named his favourites for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The World Cup gets underway in a couple weeks, with Mane set to lead the African champions in Qatar as they look to make a deep run in the competition.

However, the Bayern star did not mention any African nations when listing the favourites for the tournament.

Ghana Coach: We Can Beat Any Team In The World

"Your country, Argentina," Mane told the ESPN reporter after the win over Barcelona.

"Yeah, Argentina is one of Argentina. Brazil, Germany, France, England. I think there are few teams which can win the World Cup and Argentina is one of them."

Mane has not had an easy time in Germany this season, but former Bayern and Ghana star Sammy Kuffour is hoping he can lead his club and country to silevrware.

"Sadio himself knows that he can do even more. He has just been voted the second best player in the world behind Karim Benzema at the Ballon d'Or. Previously, he was named Africa's footballer of the year. So he has shown that he can do better," Kouffour told AZ.

"I hope that he wins the Champions League with Bayern and plays a very good World Cup with Senegal - then he can become the best player in the world."
