African FIFA World Cup Qualifying Wrap

Cote d'Ivoire 2-1 Malawi

Cote d'Ivoire maintained their perfect record in Group D with a 2-1 victory over Malawi on Monday evening.

Arsenal star Nicolas Pepe opened the scoring for the hosts after just two minutes, but they were pegged back on 20 minutes through Khuda Muyaba's equaliser on 20 minutes.

However, Franck Kessi had the final say after getting the winning goal from the penalty spot in the 66th minute.

Mozambique 0-1 Cameroon

Cameroon registered back-to-back wins in Group D after defeating Mozambique 1-0 on Monday afternoon.

Just a few days after their 3-1 win on home soil, the Indomitable Lions got the maximum points once again thanks to Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui's 68th minute strike.

Libya 0-3 Egypt

Egypt cemented top spot in Group F with a 3-0 thrashing of Libya on Monday night.

Ahmed El Fotouh got proceedings underway in the 40th minute before Mostafa Mohamed doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time.

Ramadan Sobhi got the third goal for the Pharoahs, who moved four points clear at the top of the group.

Gabon 2-0 Angola

Gabon finally got their first win in Group F with a 2-0 triumph over Angola at Stade de Franceville.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring on 74 minutes before Alex Moucketou-Moussounda sealed the win 10 minutes later,

Burkina Faso 2-0 Djibouti

Burkina Faso defeated Djibouti for the second straight game to move top of Group A.

Issoufou Dayo and Abdoul Tapsoba got the goals for the hosts, while Djibouti finished the game with 10 men after Aptidon Daher's sending off in the second half.
