African FIFA World Cup Qualifying Wrap

Central African Republic 0-2 Nigeria

Nigeria got back to winning ways at the top of Group C after a revenge 2-0 win over Central African Republic at Stade Omnisports.

Leon Balagun broke the deadlock for the Super Eagles on the half-hour mark and Victor Osimhen doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time.

Kenya 0-1 Mali

Mali opened a two-point lead at the top of Group E after edging Kenya 1-0 at Nyayo National Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Ibrahima Kone eventually broke the deadlock for Mali ten minutes from the half-time break and that proved to be the winner.

Uganda 1-0 Rwanda

Uganda got back-to-back wins over Rwanda in Group E after another 1-0 victory in the East African derby at St Mary's Stadium.

Fayad Bayo broke the deadlock for the Cranes midway through the first stanza and that was enough to hand Milutin Sredojevic's charges their second win, as they moved up to within two points of leaders Mali in second place.

Benin 0-1 Tanzania

Tanzania toppled Benin at the top of Group J after a revenge 1-0 win at Stade de I'Amitie.

Simon Msuva got an early lead for Tanzania in the sixth minute and that was enough to see them move up to the top of the section.

Zambia 1-1 Equatorial Guinea

Zambia were unable to get back to winning ways after drawing 1-1 with Equatorial Guinea on Sunday evening.

Fashion Sakala opened the scoring on 65 minutes, but the visitors rescued a point thanks to Bikoro's 82nd minute strike.

Cape Verde Islands 1-0 Liberia

Cape Verde Islands registered a second successive win in Group C after snatching victory against Liberia.

With the game seemingly headed for a draw, Ryan Mendes popped up with the winning goal for the home side on 90 minutes.

Madagascar 1-0 Congo DR

Madagascar registered their first win in Group J after defeating the Democratic Republic of the Congo 1-0 on Sunday evening.

Nijva Rakotoharimalala's second-minute strike was enough to secure maximum points for the hosts on the night.
