Wydad Seek Extra European Test Ahead of CWC

Wydad AC is reportedly planning games against European sides in preparation for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Wydad will play in the FIFA Club World Cup in June and the Moroccan side is in a challenging group against Qatari side Al Ain and two European heavyweights, Juventus and Manchester City.

In preparation for the showpiece club event, Wydad has reportedly prepared two friendly matches against European sides FC Porto and Sevilla, with the former playing in the competition as well.

According to Al Omk Sport, the Moroccan side is reportedly planning a third match against another European side, in addition to the games against Porto and Sevilla.

Wydad will face the Spanish side on 27 May and the Portuguese outfit on 31 May with both games scheduled to take place at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.

Club spokesperson Mohammed Talal has confirmed that the two friendlies are part of the club's comprehensive preparations for the global event as the side looks to test their physical and tactical readiness against the European sides.

Al Omk Sport reported further that an informed source revealed that Wydad will face another La Liga side in the competition, while the same source revealed that English side Chelsea are also on the list of clubs to face, given the 2017 English champions will face Tunisian side Esperance de Tunis.
