The Brazilian outfit will face the Red and Yellow in their opening game at the Club World Cup and coach Boto revealed his team's preparations for the tournament, according to WinWin.
The Portuguese was full of praise for the Tunisian outfit and labelled Esperance as a 'tough side'.
"We will face a very tough team, and African football relies on high-level tactics," Boto said. "We will enjoy every match. I'm sure you haven't watched a single minute of their matches. They are a team that plays tough football," he added.
WinWin reported that Flamengo also dedicated a YouTube video to discuss the team's chances against Esperance.
"The match against the Tunisian club is very important and fundamental," the team said.
"We will be facing the Tunisian champions twice in a row, and they have a style of play that relies on controlling the ball and dictating the pace, especially in the local league, which they dominate. However, they are not accustomed to facing stronger teams or to retreating and defending, which may cause them difficulties against Flamengo, who are also accustomed to possession and dictating the pace of the match."
The Scarlet and Black noted the importance of Brazilian star Rodrigo Rodrigues and Yan Sasse as two dangermen for the Tunisians.
