An Al Ahly legend has made a massive prediction regarding Percy Tau's prominence for the Egyptian giants at the latest edition of the FIFA Club World Cup.

This past Friday, the Club of the Century got their Cup World Cup campaign off to a winning start, thrashing big-spending hosts Al Ittihad 3-1 in the second round of the tournament.

A player who managed to find the scoresheet during the encounter was Tau's wing partner Hussein El Shahat, the eight-cap Egypt international doubling Ahly's lead in the 59th minute.

While the newly crowned 2023 CAF Men's Interclub Player of the Year did not register any goal involvement during the match, Egyptian football icon Emad Meteb has claimed that the Witbank native, alongside El Shahat and captain Mohamed El Shenawy, will be the most prominent players for Marcel Koller at the competition.

"I think that goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy will be one of the brilliant players for the Reds in the tournament, and I also expect Hussein El Shahat and Percy Tau to perform well," the Pharaohs' fifth highest goalscorer of all time said, as per Kooora.

Meteb played for the Saudi Pro League champions been 2008 and 2009, but spent the majority of his career playing for the Red Devils, for whom he managed to bag their first-ever Club World Cup goal in 2005 against Sydney FC, before helping them secure bronze medal honours a year later.
