The former Poland international announced his retirement from football earlier this year after a seven-year spell at Juventus.
Szczesny, 34, made 252 appearances for the Bianconeri and kept 103 clean sheets.
With Ter Stegen likely to miss the rest of this season after suffering a severe knee injury in Barcelona's 5-1 win over Villarreal this past weekend, Szczesny is now expected to replace him as the team's No. 1.
