Antoine Griezmann made his unofficial debut for FC Barcelona on Tuesday, but the Frenchman might not play for the club again after his transfer was contested by Atletico Madrid.

Following a protracted transfer saga, Barca finally completed the signing of Griezmann from Atletico after activating the player's €120 million (R1.8 billion) release clause.
Los Rojiblancos have since contested the transfer, however, claiming that Barca and Griezmann had reached an agreement prior to 1 July, when his release was still valued at an amount of €200 million (R3 billion).
Per Marca, Barcelona have been reported to LaLiga, who are currently considering the merits of the transfer and the option of potentially blocking Griezmann's participation in the league.
League president Javier Tebas has confirmed that Atletico lodged a complaint, and that it is possible for a player's registration to be blocked.
"Atletico Madrid sent a document that questions whether we should give Barcelona a licence for Griezmann," Tebas told Radio Marca.
"It is possible to block a player's registration. We are currently working to resolve the situation."

Should the league elect to block Griezmann's registration, he would be ineligible to play for Barcelona until a settlement can be reached between the clubs, and there is a risk that the deal could fall through altogether.
This is not the first time that Atletico have reported the Blaugrana for their transfer conduct. In 2017, the Madrid club lodged a complaint with FIFA accusing the Catalan giants of making an illegal approach for Griezmann.

The France superstar joined Atletico in 2014, and scored 133 goals in 257 appearances during his five-year association with the club.
