LaLiga 'Approve' Barca Plans, Messi Incoming?

LaLiga 'Approve' Barca Plans, Messi Incoming?

In the midst of their pursuit of Lionel Messi, Barcelona have reportedly had their financial feasibility plan approved by LaLiga.

According to Relevo, the chances of Messi becoming a Barcelona player once again are becoming increasingly likely after the Blaugrana complied with the necessary monetary requirements from the Spanish top flight.

It seemed the Catalan giants were destined for a shortfall a couple months ago, but following certain departures, the club is getting closer to being relatively stable financially.

Antoine Griezmann's sale to Atletico Madrid as well as the exits of club legends Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba have enabled the LaLiga champions to avail €40 million (R826 million) on their books, a figure that was previously deemed unattainable.

The same report claims that, along with the €3 million (R62 million) registration of Gavi's new deal and €17 million (R351 million) for Ronald Araujo's extension, the club is getting closer to an amount where re-signing the seven-time Ballon d'Or becomes a genuine possibility.

In the meantime, the five-time European champions will have to generate more money in order to facilitate Messi's reported €25 million (R516 million) contract as there is believed to be only €5 million (R103 million) left.

A number of Barca players are still linked with a move away from the Camp Nou, though, so perhaps two more departures will make it possible for Messi to return.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner wants to return to Catalonia, with the forward's father stating as much on Monday afternoon.

The diminutive attacker also reportedly has a lucrative offer worth a reported €600 million (R12.4 billion) on the table from a Saudi Arabian club, but it appears it is his wish is only to return to the Camp Nou.
