Manchester United beat Cambridge United 3-0 in their FA Cup Fourth-Round replay on Tuesday night at Old Trafford.
Cambridge came agonisingly close to taking the lead only two minutes into the game. A loose ball from Blind was pounced upon by Elliott who took an early shot trying to bend it around David de Gea, but the shot hit the post. However, it was the Red Devils who opened the scoring in the 25th minute. A deep ball from Angel Di Maria found Marouane Fellaini who headed it on for Juan Mata to flick into the roof of the net. The advantage was doubled in the 32nd minute as United took control of the encounter. A corner-kick from Di Maria picked out Fellaini whose shot deflected and fell for Robin van Persie. The Dutch striker set it up well for Marcos Rojo to head home. The hosts should have been three goals up after the break when Wayne Rooney's shot was parried by Dunn and into the path of Van Persie, but his shot went over the bar. The result was secured in the 73rd minute as Herrera's drilled pass found James Wilson who smashed it home for a comfortable win. Earlier, Sunderland beat Fulham 3-1 at Craven Cottage while Preston North End got past Sheffield United 3-1 as well.View The Soccer Laduma TV Guide
