Romelu Lukaku reached the 20-goal mark for the season by netting a brace, as Manchester United defeated Huddersfield Town 2-0 to advance to the FA Cup quarterfinals.
Jose Mourinho was without the services of Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrea, while David de Gea was rested.
However, the Red Devils broke the deadlock after just two minutes, when Lukaku exchanged passes with Juan Mata before calmly slotting in at the near post.
Despite going behind, Huddersfield took control of the encounter for the opening 20 minutes although they failed trouble Sergio Romero.
United did have the ball in the back of the net on the stroke of halftime through Mata. However, the Spaniard's strike was ruled out for offside by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
The visitors did eventually get their second goal in the 55th minute, as Lukaku completed his brace with a similar finish to his first, with Alexis Sanchez collecting the assist.
Huddersfield continued to push for a goal, with Tom Ince providing a real threat down the right flank.
With a UEFA Champions League clash coming up, Mourinho opted withdraw Sanchez for Anthony Martial before Jesse Lingard replaced Mata minutes later.
Nevertheless, the Red Devils saw out the remaining stages with relative ease as they secured a spot in the quarterfinals.
