UEFA Europa League Wrap: Manchester United and Arsenal Cruise To Quarter-Finals

Manchester United 2-0 Granada (4-0 agg.)

Manchester United had a relatively easy passage to the semi-finals after beating Granada 4-0 on aggregate following a 2-0 win in the second-leg of the quarter-finals.

Edinson Cavani gave the Red Devils a dream start with the opener in the sixth minute but it took an own goal from Jesus Vallejo for the hosts to get on the scoresheet again late in the second half.

Slavia Prague 0-4 Arsenal (1-5 agg.)

Arsenal cruised to the semi-finals after trouncing Slavia Prague a 4-0 win in the second-leg courtesy of brace by Alexandre Lacazette.

Emile Smith Rowe had a goal for the Gunners in the 14th minute disallowed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for offside but Nicolas Pepe, Lacazette and Bukayo Saka scored three in goals six minutes four minutes thereafter to put the tie away from Slavia.

Lacazette made it 4-0 in the last 13 minutes to complete his brace, as Arsenal setup a semi-final meeting against Villarreal.

AS Roma  1-1 Ajax Amsterdam (3-2 agg.)

AS Roma booked their spot in the semi-finals after edging Ajax Amsterdam 3-2 on aggregate following a 1-1 draw in the quarter-final second-leg.

Brian Brobbey broke the deadlock for Ajax four minutes from the break and the Dutch side thought they were 2-0 up just before the hour-mark after Dusan Tadic found the back of the net but the goal was disallowed for a foul after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review.

Edin Dzeko snatched the equaliser for the Italian side in the last eight minutes and made it 3-2 on aggregate.

Villarreal 2 -1 Dinamo Zagreb (3-1 agg.)

Villarreal advanced to the semi-finals after beating Dinamo Zagre 2-1 win in the second-leg on Thursday evening.

Paco Alcacer and Gerard Moreno gave Villarreal a two-goal cushion going to the break while Mislav Orsic pulled a goal back in the last quarter of an hour but it was too little too late, as the Yellow Submarine booked a spot in the final four.
