Arsenal qualified for the UEFA Europa League knockout stage as Group F winners after rallying back from two goals down to secure a point at Standard Liege on Thursday evening.
Konstantinos Mavropanos slotted in the Gunners defence which also featured David Luiz, who missed the home defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
A spot of bother in defence following the opening exchanges provided a clear opening to Liege forward Renaud Emond who fortunately dragged wide from close range.
Reiss Nelson came close to handing the visitors the lead right before halftime, but his header from a rebound off Bukayo Saka's shot proved too comfortable for Arnaud Bodart.
Liege hit the front two minutes after halftime after Samuel Bastien's shot outside the area wrong-footed Emiliano Martinez after deflecting off Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
In almost identical fashion, the home side doubled the tally 20 minutes later when Selim Amallah's low shot struck the arm of Mavropanos' and sailed into the bottom corner.
However, the Gunners launched the comeback in the final 12 minutes as Alexandre Lacazette nodded beyond Bodart following an inch perfect cross from Saka.
Momentum drifted from Liege after Saka played a one-two with Martinelli before curling into the bottom far corner three minutes later to seal a point and top spot for the Gunners, while Liege are eliminated.
