Result: Qarabag 0-3 Arsenal

Date: 04 October 2018

Venue: Tofik Bakhramov Stadium

Arsenal claimed a second successive win in the UEFA Europa League after recording a 3-0 victory over Qarabag in their Group A encounter.

The Gunners got off to the perfect start as defender, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, rose well to head home Nacho Monreal's corner.

Qarabag, buoyed by the home support, looked to hit back straight away, but they had to wait until the 27th minute for an opening through Mahir Madatov, who saw his effort saved by Bernd Leno at the near post.

Leno was called into action once again after 38 minutes, with the Gunners' shot-stopper pulling off a superb save to deny Filip Ozobic after the defence failed to clear their lines.

Qarabag ended the half on the stronger note, as Daniil Medvedev let fly from 10-yards out, although his strike sailed into the side-netting.

Eight minutes into the second half, the Gunners doubled their lead through Emile Smith Rowe, who collected a cross from Alex Iwobi before slotting home a low strike to register his first goal for the club.

That was to be Smith Rowe's final big moment as the 18-year-old made way for Mesut Ozil in the 65th minute, while Qarabag threw on Araz Abdullayev for Ozobic.

The Gunners rounded of the scoring on 79 minutes as substitute Alexandre Lacazette surged towards the box before picking out Mattéo Guendouzi, who slotted into the bottom corner with a neat finish.

Qarabag looked to bag a consolation late in the half, but Leno was on hand to deny Abdellah Zoubir as the encounter ended 3-0 to the visitors.
